FAQs
(Frequently Asked Questions)

My spouse takes care of the accounting and clerical side of the business for me, but I could use help making sure I can understand the numbers of my business and make better forecasts.  Is that something you can help me with?
Answer: Yes, absolutely. The services offered by REDHAMMER include everything, from clerical duties to CFO and Controller responsibilities. We can set up your systems, train your staff, and optionally, be your entire accounting staff. You decide what combination of services you need.

We had a bad experience where our accountant was stealing from us. What can you do to protect us?
Answer: Unfortunately, yours is not an isolated case, and it is actually a problem we commonly see. REDHAMMER does not cut checks. We are simply a third person keeping a watchful eye on your bank statements to make sure everything looks right.

How can you help us maximize revenue on change orders?
Answer: We design your software to do this automatically. This type of customized set up is a huge undertaking, but our processes are proven to be successful.

What is the most common reason a construction company comes to REDHAMMER?
Answer: Most often, we receive referrals, from bonding or insurance companies, and banks. They call us to say, “Hey, XYZ company here who wants to get a bond to do a job, but their financials are not in order. Can you help them?”
Usually, the problem isn’t that the contractor isn’t strong enough to qualify for the bond, or the line-of-credit, or for insurance, but their financials don’t accurately reflect their strength and/or they just don’t have the time to devote to getting everything in order to facilitate the process. Time is money, and many contractors don’t see that paperwork puts money in their pocket.

My company is small, and I'm just not sure I can afford to hire a CFO or Controller.
Answer: If you’re currently paying an accountant or someone to handle the books, they are costing you a salary and benefits. And, unfortunately, they probably aren’t doing a bang up job — maybe just doing the bare minimum.
What if you could outsource that employee’s responsibilities and get more and pay less? Does that idea appeal to you?

While applying for a line of credit, a banker asked me: What is your working capital?  I didn't know how to answer that question.
Answer: REDHAMMER can attend meetings and handle correspondence with bonding agents and bankers, allowing you to focus on what you do best: renovating, fixing, installing and building, out in the field.
